libfreenect-bin software package provides library for accessing Kinect device -- utilities and samples, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libfreenect-bin
libfreenect-bin is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libfreenect-bin package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libfreenect-bin *
You will get with libfreenect-bin package name, version, architecture and description in a table
